Bookkeeper
Overview
We are looking for a School Bookkeeper to join our hard-working and inclusive team.

- AAT or similar qualification desirable
Key Responsibilities:
Administration on behalf of the School Finance Manager
• Processing of all purchase Ledger invoices, seeking
necessary approvals/authorisation of spending
• Regular reconciling of the bank
• Payment of all purchase Ledger invoices (and other adhoc payments)
through online banking ensuring payments are in line with invoice due dates
• Processing of invoices and payments through the accounting package
(Engage)
• Allocation of fee receipts from bill payers and allocation to the debtors
account within the accounting package
• Timely raising of other manual invoices (e.g. room hire, rent etc)
• Processing of staff expense forms
• Process payroll changes (starters, leavers etc) on the third-party payroll
provider portal
• Process bacs/faster payment run for payroll (based on report send from third party payroll provider)
• Assist the Financial Manager in the delivery of departmental budgets to
academic and facilities staff
• Assist with the annual audit process
• Procurement of goods and services (researching and placing orders to get
best value for money for the school)
• Recording of school trip deposits.
• Any other adhoc support required by the Finance Manager.
• Management of the Petty Cash Account
General School Administration (Holiday Time Only)
• Manage day-to-day queries by telephone, email and face to face, deciding what
action needs to be taken and by whom and ensure consistency in communications
with parents and staff;
• If needed, undertake some reception duties alongside the School Secretaries,
promoting a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere and assist visitors to complete the required security procedures;
• Undertake other ad-hoc clerical, financial and administrative duties as required
Salary & Benefits
Hours: 2 days a week (52 weeks) A part-time role: 12 hours a week
Salary: £8112 (actual)
